On Sunday 18th March 2018, Kigali City residents from different corners participated in Walk for Water. The Walk for Water was organized on official launch of Water week which started on 18 up to 23 March 2018. In his key remarks of the day, the Minister of Environment, Dr. Vincent Biruta focused on the theme of the World Water Day 2018 “Nature for Water”. The Minister emphasized on the community role in water resources management as responsible citizens because water is crucial in their daily life.
“No water, no life”, said Minister of Environment.
Dr. Vincent Biruta added that without water, sport exercises will not be possible. Everyone needs clean water for healthy life. The crowd at Rwanda Revenue ground was requested to protect environment by banning plastic bags in their several business activities.

International World Water Day has been held annually since 1993 as a means of focusing global attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating sustainable management of freshwater resources. The World Water Day 2018 (WWD2018) was commemorated on Thursday, 22ndMarch 2018, in Kanama Sector of Rubavu District.
Furthermore, that week included the celebration of International Day of Forests and the World Meteorological Day on 21st and 23rd March respectively.
